Spring Circle / Council / Counsel

 Spring council/counsel/circle (Spring CCC)

Updated June 19th at 9:10 PM Central Time.

Spring CCC is over. Consensus minus one was reached for a site in Missouri. The Howdy Folks is now available.

Updated June 18th at 11 AM Central Time.

Please be patient as the folks at spring council try to find a gathering site. They have been dealing with very dangerous storm conditions in addition to challenges finding a site on and off over a number of days. Trying to balance water, parking, and the concerns of indigenous communities is not easy.  Folks are revisiting sites to see what can be made to work with some Rainbow ingenuity.  If you are in the area, stop by the council site and find out how you can help. Maybe folks need some more green energy, maybe they need their laundry done, maybe some hot pizza would lift spirits.

The council is ongoing.   Folks on the land trying to find the best possible site for our family.  Stay tuned. Ignore all rumors of cancellation.  Be hippy!

Everyone is welcome to make their opinion heard at the council / counsel / circle.   If you have an opinion, be there or be square.  Folks are still checking the potential sites to identify the pros and cons of each so the folks sitting in a circle on the land can make an informed decision.

Updates from Council: Spring council is continuing. Folks are small in number but high in spirit and coming together even when they disagree. Yesterday, there was 2 inches of rain. Family is still checking out potential gathering sites.  Stay tuned!

Basic Information and Directions to Spring CCC

Spring CCC is when all potential sites for the gathering are brought to any people who want to be involved in selecting a site. THIS IS NOT THE GATHERING SITE.

Photo of annual silver leaf in bloom. This is the time for folks to discuss the pros and cons of the sites being offered so that we land at the best place for our family.  In order to be a CommUnity, we need to sit in a circle together and discuss our hopes and dreams, concerns and ideas. Together, folks can pick the best site for the health and safety of the people who will join us for the silent prayer for world peace.

People talk about critical issues and plant the seeds for a positive and healing gathering.

The council usually takes one to seven days and normally ends with either a consensus by silence among people at the council or an exodus of the majority of people heading to the preferred site. Spring council goes until a decision is reached by consensus or by foot.

Folks walking the land typically pick a Spring CCC location based on proximity to potential sites. Depending on the number of sites being proposed, the council typically takes place midway between the potential sites or closer to the only site on the table.  It is my understanding that this year there are two main sites being proposed for the council to discuss on-the-land so based on how things have happened in the past, Spring CCC has been located as close to the midway point between the sites as is feasible.

People show up on-the-land to discuss the pros and cons of each potential site so that the process is open to all who wish to be part of it. Remember, this year we have invited indigenous people to join us.  Indigenous people did join us in 2024 as well and their input was considered along with that of everyone at the council.

This year Spring CCC is slated to start on June 13th.

Until the Spring CCC process determines a site, there is no home or gathering location.  That being said, Spring CCC council is usually but not always in within 100-200 miles of the potential site(s) for the gathering.

Spring CCC takes as long as it takes to reach a decision. If you want to have a voice in the decision making process, please be there on-the-land. Once Spring CCC reaches a decision, then we move to the our temporary home and start building the gathering aka Seed Camp.  If you are not a self-sufficient gatherer and are not willing to do the work of preparing the gathering for family coming home, please don't show up until at least June 20th.   Even then, water systems will be under construction,  kitchens may not be prepared to feed anyone but their own crews, and engagement with government entities will be ongoing.

DIRECTIONS:

Please note that this location is between the two viable sites. It is 94 miles to one of the potential sites and 101 miles to the other potential site. As the car drives it should be 2 hours and 4 minutes per Google Earth.

  1. Thank you for publishing the most up-to-date information... I called the phone number 530-487-4636 and there's no mention of the location of the spring Council... I guess you're plugged into some Insider information it's not available to every Tom Dick and Harry who's got a phone... Good job!
